Croatia’s 28-year-old Marko Purisic, more widely known as Baby Lasagna, is the favourite to win according to bet365, who are currently offering 4/5 odds.
Following in second place with considerably lower odds is Israel, with the song “Hurricane” performed by Eden Golan at 7/2, followed by Switzerland in third position at 5/1.
This year marks the 66th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, hosted by last year’s winners, Sweden, after claiming the title with the song “Tattoo” by Loreen.
Frontrunners Croatia will have high hopes of claiming the crown this year, given that they were originally placed at 40/1 with bet365.
Switzerland, still in the top three to win, has the potential to mark their third Eurovision title, represented by Nemo with his song “The Code.” Celine Dion last claimed the crown for Switzerland in Dublin back in 1988 after sweeping away the competition with the song “Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi,” which is French for “Don’t Leave Without Me.”
If second favourite’s Israel can be victorious this year, then it will mark their fifth Eurovision title, putting them level with the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Luxembourg, and France, while Ireland and Sweden both have seven titles.
The United Kingdom will be hoping to end 27 years since they last won with Katrina & The Waves performing their song “Love Shines a Light.” This year, it’s Olly Alexander representing the UK with his song “Dizzy,” but at odds of 150/1 with bet365, it seems a long shot.
Of the remaining Big Five nations, France is currently at 12/1 and the fourth favourite, followed by Italy in seventh place. Germany is currently way down at 200/1, and sitting in rock bottom is Spain at 300/1.
