About

Bet365 was founded in 2000 in Stoke-on-Trent, UK and started their journey with just 12 employees. The business grew quickly and the company now employs over 5,000 staff and has  become one of the biggest betting brands in the world having attracted over 53 million customers.

The 365 betting brand has grown from strength to strength since being founded over 20 years ago with sports betting being the main focus when the website was launched in 2001. A games section was added to the site three years later in 2004 followed by a number of other key developments in broadening the service such as adding live streaming (2006), a Bingo website (2008), a mobile website (2010), the very popular mobile app (2012), cash out in 2014 and many more.

Providing that you're not completely new to online betting, it's more than likely that you've come across Bet365 at some point either online, on television or via word of mouth. That's usually a good sign as it shows the company is doing well. However, if you're looking to bet with them, it's helpful to know a bit more about what the betting site has to offer. That's what we aim to help you with within this Bet365 review as we've used this bookie for placing bets for over a decade and know their good points and their bad points and how they compare with some of the other established online bookies.

So, let's get going with our review starting by taking a look at one of the most important questions - Is Bet365 a safe place to bet?

New Customers only. Bet £10* & Get £30* in Free Bets. Sign up, deposit between £5* and £10* to your account and bet365 will give you three times that value in Free Bets when you place qualifying bets to the same value and they are settled. Is Bet365 Safe?

Regardless of whether a bookmaker offers good odds, allows you to bet on the sports you want to, or offers you a lot of free bets, one thing you need to look at first is whether or not they are a safe brand to bet with. Thankfully, we're more than confident that they are safe.

You should proceed with caution with any new betting site but Bet 365 have been in business for over 20 years and although that doesn't prove that your money is safe with them, it's a relatively good indicator. If you're betting from within the UK, they are fully licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, as should any bookmaker be that you bet with. They hold UK Gambling commission licences for both their sports and gaming products which can be viewed via the links in the footer of the website.

In regards to players' funds, they are given a 'Medium Protection' rating. This means that funds from customers are held in an account that is separate from the companies funds so that in the unlikely event of the company going under, funds will be distributed back to customers. There is also usually an insurance policy on the account which holds customers funds which gives an added layer of protection.

Overall, we here at WhichBookie and millions of others worldwide, consider Bet365 to be a very secure place to bet.

How To Open An Account

If you'd like to go ahead and open an account, the process is very simple. You can create an account on your PC, laptop, mobile, tablet or any other device with a browser or you can download the app from the app stores and register an account that way.

  1. Click on the 'Join' button. If using the website, this is located in the top right corner.

  2. Enter your details. We recommend opting into all or at least some communication methods as this will allow you to receive betting offers when they become available - and they have some great ones which you don't want to miss out on!

  3. Click the 'Join Bet365' button to confirm your account

That's it! Your account should be set up and ready to use.

All bookmakers are required to confirm the identity of customers before they can place a bet. Usually this can be done upon registration without any further information needed from the customer. However, if not, you may be required to upload a copy of ID documents such as a driving licence or passport. Don't worry though, this is a completely normal request.

How Good Is Bet365's Horse Racing Service?

If you bet on horse racing regularly, then it's a good idea to place your bets with a bookie which excels in this department. Did you know that some bookmakers don't even take bets on horse racing?

So, what makes a good horse racing bookmaker?

First of all, there are the odds. Betting isn't just about winning or losing, it's about getting the most value from your bets so that you generate a profit in the long term. The bigger the odds the bookie offers, the more value there is for the punter. Bet365 regularly have some of the best odds on horse racing compared to several of the other big bookmakers which has made them one of the most popular bookies for horse racing bets. You'll often find Bet365 on odds comparison sites with odds equal to or greater than the majority showing that they provide excellent odds with relatively small margins.

Another factor that makes a good horse racing bookie are the horse racing offers that are available. Offers such as Best Odds Guaranteed and Extra Places are common with online bookmakers and regularly available on selected races on a daily basis. There are a number of horse racing offers available such as BOG, Extra Places and their 4/1 offer which is available on ITV races and can result in a free bet of up to £50 on each race if you back a winner!

As for bet types, customers are spoilt for choice. As well as standard Win & Each way bets which you can place at any bookie which offers horse racing, there are a number of others available such as Lucky 15's, Forecasts, Tricasts, Tote, Exacta, Swinger, Trifecta, Placepot, Place 6, Quadpot, Win 4, Win 6 Jackpot, Not to Win, To be Placed, Not to be Placed, Betting Without Favourite and more!

Bet365 also pays Double Result which means that they will pay bets on horses First Past The Post as well as the Official Result.

What Makes Them Different?

There are dozens of bookies online and many of them are perfectly good choices of places to bet. So, what makes Bet365 different and why should you bet with them?

Bet365 have a number of good qualities, many of which we have mentioned in this review. The bookie is recognised widely across the UK and other countries as an established brand which provides an all-round good service with all of their products.

Some things which makes Bet365 stand out from other betting sites are:

  • Established betting brand for over 20 years

  • Excellent odds for all major sports which is crucial to regular punters

  • Very generous betting offers for several sports such as football and horse racing

  • Regular offers for casino players such as free spins and bonuses

  • One of, if not the, best welcome offer available to new customers

  • Considered reliable, trustworthy and reputable by millions of customers

Here are a few more features which are worth taking note of:

Cash Out

Like many top bookmakers, Bet365 offers a Cash Out function which allows customers to end their bets early before their bet has been settled. It's an extremely popular feature which is used by a huge number of customers on a daily basis.

Let's take a look at an example of when you may wish to use the Cash Out feature...

You place a £10 bet on Manchester United to beat Liverpool at odds of 2/1 which would see a return of £30 if United win. It's the 80th minute in the game and Man Utd are winning 1-0. Liverpool are pushing for an equaliser which has you nervous and so you head to Bet365 to check the Cash Out amount.

At this point, you are offered a Cash Out of £25. You could either ride your bet out for a potential return of £30 or cash in your bet early for a guaranteed return of £25 which you would receive instantly.

To save the disappointment should Liverpool equalise or win the match, cashing out is sometimes the preferred option in these situations and can be done with the click of a button via the website or app.

Note that the odds and cash out amounts used in the example above are theoretical. Actual cash amounts vary depending on the stake of the bet, odds at time of placing the bet and odds of the market at the time of cashing out.

Partial Cash Out

As well as being able to fully cash out your bet and end it early, customers can partially cash out their bet. This means that you can cash out a certain amount and leave the remainder to run.

Partial cash out is sometimes used as a strategy to cash out the amount of your original stake so that you are guaranteed not to lose money and leave the remainder of your bet to run so that you make a profit if it wins.

Auto Cash Out

A nice feature that isn't always available with other bookies is the ability to set your bet to automatically cash out once the cash out amount hits a specified amount.

For example, when you placed your bet on Manchester United to beat Liverpool, you could have set the auto cash out at £25. This would mean that your bet would automatically be settled when/if the cash out amount hit or exceeded £25.

How To Cash Out

Cash Out is available on selected events, sports and markets for both bets placed pre-match and in-play. To cash out a bet, log into your account and head to your open bets. If cash out is available for a bet, a cash out amount will be displayed alongside it. You can then simply choose to fully or partially cash out your bet. Once confirmed, the cash out amount will instantly be added to your cash balance.

Bet Builder

Many bookmakers now allow you to create your own bets using selections from markets that may not always have been able to be combined in a regular accumulator bet. You can do this for pre-match football markets through their Bet Builder.

To place a Bet Builder bet, select the football match you wish to bet on and click on the Bet Builder tab. From here you're able to add selections to add to your bet. Markets include Goalscorers, Card markets, Match Result, Double Chance, Free Kick markets, Throw In markets, Goal Kicks and many more. You can add a maximum of six selections to any Bet Builder bet.

Bet Builder type bets have become extremely popular in recent years as they allow punters to have more freedom in the bets they place.

Can You Stream Sports On Bet365?

Yes, Bet365 has one of the best live streaming services available with a huge number of events available to stream every day.

Sports such as horse racing, greyhounds, football, basketball, tennis, golf, ice hockey and table tennis are all available to stream directly through your account with the streaming quality being excellent on both desktop and mobile phones. You can also stream sports live through the app.

In order to access a live stream of any sporting event, you must have either:

  1. Have a funded account

  2. Have placed a bet within the last 24 hours

To add to the In-Play excitement, bet365 stream over 200,000 events live to your PC every year - so you can bet as the action unfolds. Highlights include Masters Series Tennis tournaments and matches from some of the top domestic Soccer leagues in the world. To use the Live Streaming service you will need to be logged in and have a funded account or to have placed a bet in the last 24 hours. Any fixture/event on our website which has the Play or Video icon next to it is scheduled to be shown via Live Streaming. Geo location and live streaming rules apply.

Stream Live Horse Racing

Accessing horse racing streams is an exception of the two requirements above as in order to access a race stream, you must place a bet of £0.50 or more on the race you wish to watch.

There is also an exception with some greyhound race streams. For any BAGS greyhound races, you must place a bet of £1 or more on the race you are streaming. For races for which the stream is provided by RPTV, either of the two general requirements above are applicable.

Horse racing streams are available for races taking place in the UK and Ireland as well as race meetings from the USA, France, Brazil, South Africa, Dubai, India, Singapore and Australia.

The live streaming schedule at Bet365 can be found by clicking on the 'Streaming' icon in the In-Play section of the site or app. On this page, all events which have a stream available will be listed. For live football streams, matches in the Premier League will be currently unavailable due to broadcasting rights but there are streams available for matches in many of the top leagues and competitions such as the German Bundesliga. All of them can be found via the In-Play tab where you can select a live event and Bundesliga, Spanish la Liga, Italian Serie A and many others.

In-Play Betting

A huge number of events are available to bet on in-play every day at Bet365 ranging from Football and Tennis to Bandy and Esports. All events can be found via the In-Play tab where you can select a live event and browse the various live betting markets.

Similar to their pre-match odds, the odds which they offer in-play are generally very good when compared to other bookies and the number of markets that they offer for live events is substantial for most sports.

As mentioned in the section above, live streams are available for many sporting events and these will load automatically on the in-play betting page providing that you have met the requirements to access the stream. Streaming a sporting event is probably the best way to gain an understanding of how the event is going without actually being there but Bet365 also provide other features which can help with this to make sure you are placing bets in-play which you think have a good chance of coming in.

Firstly there are the in-play stats. These are available for the majority of live events and will display statistics such as how many shots a team has had in a football game or how many aces a player has made in a tennis match.

For many live events, there is a Match Tracker available which shows you what is currently happening in the event or game using a computer-generated visualisation. It will show when a team is attacking, when they have a corner, when a player is injured and lots more. This can be an extremely useful tool when betting on live events. For example, if you were looking to bet on Manchester United to beat Liverpool but can see on the Match Tracker that Liverpool have a corner, you may wish to wait until after that corner has been taken to place your bet in case Liverpool score from it.

The Bet365 App

Let's face it, the majority of us spend a lot of our time on our smartphones these days whether that be for browsing social media, shopping or placing bets. In fact, an estimated 75%+ of sports punters use their mobile phones for betting with online bookies. Therefore, it makes sense for bookmakers to have a dedicated app available.

Bet365 is one of those bookies and released the first version of their app way back in 2012. They've had a lot of time to get it right and they've done a great job.

Most mobile apps are about convenience and with the Bet365 app, you're able to log into your account and place bets within seconds. Accessing the app is done with a touch of the screen and options for logging into your account are username/password, fingerprint or facial recognition.

Once inside the app, you'll have access to all pre-match & in-play betting markets, live streaming of sports, deposits/withdrawals, casino games as well as all other features such as Cash Out, placing Bet Builder bets and much more.

The design of the app is very similar to the mobile website version. In fact, it's almost identical. That said, it works very well in that it's nicely-designed, fast loading and easy to navigate.

By downloading the Bet365 app, even if you prefer to bet using the desktop website, you'll be able to receive push notifications for special offers and updates to ensure you never miss a good offer again.

Bet365 Casino

Customers of Bet365 have access to the Casino which features hundreds of games ranging from online slots to Video Poker and table games such as Blackjack and Roulette. If you wish to play games in the casino, you will need to transfer funds from your sports wallet into your casino wallet. Bet365 did have separate wallets for each of their sports, games, casino and poker products but this was changed on 10th February 2021 to feature just two wallets for sports and gaming, making it a lot less hassle to switch between products.

As with most online casinos, a large number of the available games are slots. At Bet365 Casino, there is a huge range of both new and classic slots to choose from with new ones added on a regular basis.

One thing we always like to see at an online casino other than the number of slots available are slots from a variety of game developers. Game providers tend to develop games in the same style and so having slots from a variety of providers gives the customer a lot more choice when it comes to the type of slots and gameplay. Slots from providers such as Microgaming, Playtech, NetEnt, Blueprint Gaming, Ash Gaming, Quickspin, Play’n’Go and Genesis Gaming are all available.

A range of other popular casino games are also available in the Bet365 Casino such as a number of variations of Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Casino Hold'em, Video Poker and more.

Live Casino

Head on over to the Live Casino section of the website and you'll be able to choose from a range of live casino games where you can play and interact with real dealers, croupiers and game show hosts.

There is a large number of live games to choose from with several dozen Blackjack tables at various stakes, different versions of live roulette such as Hindi Roulette, Turkish Roulette, Spread Bet Roulette, Roleta Brasileira, Slingshot Roulette and more. There is also live Baccarat and live Sic Bo, Live Bingo and a range of live Game Shows.

Live Game Shows have proven to be extremely popular in recent years with providers such as Evolution Gaming and Playtech releasing new and exciting games on a fairly regular basis. Some live Game Shows which are available include Adventures Beyond Wonderland, Spin A Win, Deal or No Deal The Big Draw, Buffalo Blitz Live (slot), Quantum Roulette Live, Hi-Lo, Quantum Blackjack Live, SicBo Delux, God of Storms Live (slot) and more.

Games Section

Another product from Bet365 is their Games section. Many betting sites have both Casino and Games sections which often causes confusion amongst customers as to the difference and point of the two sections.

Bet365 Games features an additional range of games compared to those found in the Casino section. There are significantly more slots to choose from as well as more table game choices.

There isn't really a solid reason why betting sites choose to divide Game and Casino sections other than that they usually have games by different providers in each section. This can be due to the betting site having a deal with providers to feature them in their casino which means that they must create a new section to feature games by other developers. For example, in the Games section, you'll find a large number of 'Bet365 Originals' which are games created by bet365 and not available elsewhere.

Deposit & Withdrawal Options

The number of ways you can deposit and withdraw from betting sites has increased over the years and so with many players using a variety of different methods, it's important that bookmakers and casinos accept these methods in order to accommodate players' needs.

Thankfully, Bet365 have taken this into consideration and offer customers a number of options when it comes to depositing and withdrawing from their accounts.

Below are the banking methods currently available to UK customers.
